To be an arts and entertainment resource for the Santa Fe Community and to bring people of all ages together.
The Story Closet staff believes that positivity, patience, and encouragement are necessary for active learning and achieving. Our teacher and entertainers also strive for fun at all times. Fun and laughter are key components of The Story Closet.
The Story Closet is owned and operated by Erica Frank, passionate maker of whimsical things. Her goal is to bring together people of all ages through fantasy storytelling, and to share her love of all things artistic and theatrical. Since earning her degrees from the well-known Parsons School of Design (BFA/New York) and California Institute for the Arts (MFA). Ms. Frank has been professionally involved in many aspects of design for theatre, film, TV, commercials, video, and puppetry. For over two decades she has designed and fabricated costumes, ranging from children’s theater companies to major films such as The Hunger Games and Guardians of the Galaxy II. Most recently, she was the full time Costume Director for Meow Wolf, an immersive and interactive themed experience well-known to residents of Santa Fe (as well as many millions of visitors!). In addition to teaching and running the Costume Departments at multiple universities (including Santa Fe University of Art and Design), Ms. Frank has taught workshops to kids of all ages. She has worked as a successful stage director, production designer, art director, writer, and performance artist . . . creating unique works that combine dance, film, theatre, puppetry, and other theatrical elements. Ms. Frank has received multiple grants for original puppetry works and delights in working with others to see their stories come to life.
